The students spent two days on volunteer work in the “community” for homeless people “Brother Albert” and at the organization for autism “Mada”, what turned out to be a very emotional visit for these young people. In Krakow they visited the Christian Culture Foundation “Znak”  and the student organization “Institute for Research on Civilizations” at Tischner European University.

The last days were spent with the local independent media of Nowy Sacz. They were guests of a live show of Radio Dobre Nowiny and took part in a broadcast about Christmas traditions in various East-European countries. They also visited the popular newspaper Dziennik Polski where they learned about ways the free press is operating in Poland. Evenings were spent with local Polish students. After sport activities such as wall climbing and bowling, they visited local discos and jazz clubs.

Elena Kozlovskaya, Study Tours participant in October 2009, prepared for her final masters degree a questionnaire about Malopolska, and how the view of East-European students on this region changed under influence of the Study Tours to Poland program.

We really want to thank the RITA Program of the Polish American Freedom Foundation for making these visits possible! Do zobaczenia !
