1.  Interactive workshops in district schools.  Volunteers from our partner organization, “Simba Friends” from Warsaw, presented everyday life in Kenya.  For many students this was a first exposure to anything African.
  2. A mobile exhibition of Photos form Simba Frinds’ activities in Kenya was open to the public in the main square on Nowy Sacz.
  3. An open panel discussion was held at Splot High School to discuss Poland’s role in Africa and what kind of help Poland could provide.  As a result students came up with various ideas such as creating their own English books and collecting other books and toys for village children in Sega.
  4. Kenya Dinner and Tractor event were organized for the public.  A typical Kenya dish was prepared and served by volunteers.  It was available for the cost of a regular Polish lunch at a restaurant with all the funds going towards the purchase of a tractor for Sega.  A musical evening with a Kenyan band and a tractor parade around the main square brought Kenya to Nowy Sacz.

We are grateful for the support of the RITA Program and Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for our  efforts to raise awareness in Nowy Sacz district of the needs of developing countries and Poland’s commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.
